THE SAPP LEGACY IMPACT INITIATIVE

A Student Innovation, Leadership, and Global Impact Experience

The Sapp Legacy Impact Initiative is a two-part, high-impact program designed to support student innovators with seed funding, mentorship, and global exposure. The initiative empowers students to move bold ideas from concept to action while developing leadership, accountability, and cultural competence. Recognizing the growing role of technology, the program also introduces students to practical and ethical uses of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a supportive tool—not a replacement for creativity or leadership.

PART I: STUDENT INNOVATION AWARD

Students with a business idea, nonprofit concept, or service project are invited to apply for the Sapp Student Innovation Award. Applicants submit a written application outlining their idea,community impact, and proposed use of funds.

Selected applicants will be invited to present their ideas in a PechaKucha-style presentation (20 slides, 20 seconds per slide) before a panel of five judges composed of selected educators and Rebecca K. Sapp.

As part of the innovation process, students may incorporate AI tools to support research, planning, budgeting, or storytelling where appropriate, with guidance provided on responsibleand ethical use.

PART II: GLOBAL LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE

Students who remain actively engaged and demonstrate progress in their projects may earn the opportunity to participate in an international, culturally immersive experience connected to their business, nonprofit, or service focus.

During this experience, students will engage with global communities and organizations while gaining exposure to how innovation—including emerging technologies like AI—is approached
across different cultural contexts.

Students will reflect on how global perspectives, leadership lessons, and appropriate technology use inform the continued growth of their project.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
• Complete and submit the full program application by the stated deadline
• Participate in the PechaKucha-style presentation if selected
• Commit to responsible use of funds with nonprofit oversight

Four students will be selected to receive a $2,000 award each. Funds are managed through a nonprofit organization and released with budgeting guidance and accountability measures.

AWARE WILD NIGHT OUT

The AWARE Wildlife Center hosts this evening event for the community to come close with some of the most incredible birds known! Proceeds go towards protecting wildlife.

OUTER CIRCLE FOUNDATION OUTING

This charitable event raised funds & awareness through a fun golf tournament at Bear’s Best. Proceeds we’re donated to disabled veterans & the families who have fallen soldiers.

CITY OF LILBURN | ROCK THE PARK

The city of Lilburn hosts a trick or treat family event at the city park for everyone to come trick or treat & watch a movie.

The city of Lilburn hosts a trick or treat family event at the city park for everyone to come trick or treat & watch a movie.

HALLOWEEN HOWL 5K RUN RUN

The Halloween howl is a family fun 5K/1K run organized by the animal rescue organization: Canine Pet Rescue. Proceeds benefit charitys & goes towards veternary bills to help treat animals.

CITY OF LILBURN | HOLIDAY PARADE

The city of Lilburn hosts a holiday parade that consisted of over 50 unique floats. The parade ends at the city park for a tree lighting & holiday celebration!
